Frank J. Turek

FRANK J. TUREK 85, beloved husband of Jean Lally Turek, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at his Cos Cob residence. He was a lifelong Greenwich resident. Frank was a Navy veteran of WWII. He served on a submarine chaser in the Atlantic Theatre and on a light cruiser, USS Pasadena in the Pacific Theatre. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Town of Greenwich for 35 years. Frank enjoyed gardening and was an avid golfer. In addition to Jean, his devoted wife of 58 years, he is survived by three sons, Richard D. Turek of Wallingford, Jeffrey F. Turek of Hamburg, Germany, and Mark T. L. Turek of Providence; a daughter, Denise A. Turek of Southbury; and a brother, Frederick Turek of FL. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Thomas and John Turek and a sister, Mary McCue. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11:30 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Avenue in Riverside. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Frank's memory to Southbury Training School, c/o Director's Office, 250 Canaan Rd., Southbury, CT, 06068.
