Irene Savage Obituary
1939 - 2025
Irene A. Savage, 86, passed away peacefully at her home at Edgehill Senior Living in Stamford, CT, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Torrington, she was a longtime Old Greenwich resident who earned degrees from Central Connecticut State University and the University of Hartford.
Irene taught at Greenwich High School, St. Mary High School, Berkeley College, Katherine Gibbs, and Westchester Community College.
She married William H. Savage in 1965 and was the devoted mother of Anne Savage, Pamela Neal (Joseph), and Janet Murphey (Ryan), and loving grandmother of Chloe and Beckham Neal, and Peter and Eric Murphey.
A lifetime member of the Rocky Point Club and First Congregational Church, she will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, Old Greenwich.

Bill and I worked together for years in the school system, and thus I met Irene. She was a lovely and friendly woman, and we enjoyed many social activities with her and Bill. My deepest condolences to you, Bill, and your family! May Irene's memory always be a blessing.

Mrs. Savage was my favorite teacher at Greenwich High School back in the middle 1960's. She was so nice & even wrote a recommendation for me when I first applied for a job after I graduated from business school.
