John Usowski Obituary
John Anthony Usowski, 87, of Greenwich, CT, devoted father and man of faith, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025.
Born November 22, 1937, in Greenwich, John was the son of Anthony and Aniela and brother to Helen and Ted. He grew up in Old Greenwich and proudly served in the National Guard.
John's life was marked by generosity and service. He volunteered with Midnight Run, T.A.G., and brought the Eucharist to those in hospitals and hospice. He found joy in reading, tennis, skiing, and golf, but his deepest devotion was always to his children.
He often said, "See God in everything," and lived with patience, kindness, and quiet faith.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jay (1987); and is survived by his children, Mimi, Mary Beth, Frank, Michael, and Kevin. A private family burial will take place September 23rd, at St. Mary's Cemetery, with a public memorial to follow.

I worked with John for many years at TAG. He was a very kind and compassionate man who loved the work he was doing. I always remember his words of wisdom and his stories about teaching religious ed, he will be missed.

"God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever". Psalm 23 .
These are words that John always carried close to his heart and soul and anyone who knew John would immediately feel his devote spiritual presence. I had the privilege of working with John for many years at St. Paul Church. John was devoted and faithful in his service to our parish as an Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion, a Reader and Religious Education teacher. John´s willingness to help those in need provided courage when people needed it most. My deepest condolences to his family, God Bless.

For many years, I did the lector schedule at Saint Paul´s. I had the privilege of knowing John because of his dedication to our church. He also was a wonderful catechist. My children were given the gift of being instructed by him. No doubt in my mind John has gained his angel wings. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.
