Joseph Valentine Obituary
87, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2007 at his home in Stamford. Born November 27, 1920 in Stamford, he was the son of the late John and Sarah Esposito Valentine.
Joseph was known for his wonderful and giving nature to his church, community, family and friends. He will always be remembered for his meticulous attention to detail, endless energy, and kindness to all. He was a self-employed carpenter, having built Bobby Valentine's Sports Gallery CafŽ in Stamford.
He is survived by his two sons, Joseph P. Valentine, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Darien; and Robert J. "Bobby" Valentine and his wife Mary of Stamford; Grandchildren, Tricia Valentine of Norwalk; Joseph J. Valentine and his wife Kim, and their children, Jessica and Jake of Lafayette Hill, PA; Anthony Valentine and his wife Jennifer and their son, Connor, of Gorham, ME; Brian Valentine of Stratford; and Robert J. Valentine, Jr. of Dallas, TX. Two sisters, Antoinette Demingway of Stamford; and Clemy D'Ademo of Stamford also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of fifty-six years, Grace Rose Scalise Valentine; and three brothers, Louis, John and Michael Valentine.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Monday, December 3, 2007 from 3:00 Ð 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at St. Clement of Rome Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Visiting Nurse Hospice Care, 1029 East Main Street, Stamford, CT
06902.
