Kermit Kroyer Obituary

Kermit Monrad Kroyer
September 26, 1937-
January 22, 2018
Kermit M. Kroyer, 80, passed away in Reno, NV after a long battle with cancer. Kermit was born in Norwalk, CT, but lived his childhood and early adulthood in Greenwich, CT. He was predeceased by his parents, Juel T. and Rebecca H. Kroyer; an infant sister Dorothy; older brother Juel Kroyer, Jr.; grandparents, Thorvald and Thora Kroyer, and William and Elizabeth Harvey.
Kermit attended Greenwich schools, graduating from Greenwich High School in 1955; went on to attend Westchester Community College in White Plains, N.Y; the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, and the Connecticut National Guard Military Academy, graduating in 1961 with the rank of 2nd. Lieutenant to serve in the Connecticut National Guard Army Reserve. He was also a veteran of the USAMCR.; discharged from the military in 1971 with the rank of Captain.
He moved to Danville, CA in 1980 with his family; later moving to Reno, NV in 1999. He was in sales his whole adult life and had his own business; "LEAP FROG ADVERTISING SPECALITIES" for over 20 years. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, vacation cruises, and raising his Golden Retrievers, Gracie and Khloe. He was a member of the Sparks County Rotary Club, Washoe County CERT, and a founding member of the SEMPER FI Club, a local Marine organization.
He is survived by a sister, Dr. Gale E. Vrtiak (George), Midlothian, VA; two former wives, Barbara and Pamela; daughter, Kristen (David) Shipman; son, Scott; two granddaughters, Jessica and Vanessa Shipman (all in Reno, NV); sister-in law, Denise (Juel Jr.) New Smyrna Beach, FL; cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place in Reno, NV in the Spring of 2018; his ashes will be scattered along the Kenai River in Alaska. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans Guest House in Reno, NV; or your favorite Animal Rescue Group. All condolences can be forwarded to Walton's Funeral and Cremations-Sierra Chapel, 575 West 2nd. Street, Reno. NV. 89503

Kermit and I went to grammar school and high school together. We had a crush on each other in 6th. grade, Julian Curtis School. Still have pictures in an old scrapbook ! May he rest in peace.
