Raymond von Brock Obituary

RAYMOND von BROCK - 83, died March 7, 2006 at his home in Bohannon, VA

A native of Greenwich, CT, he was a nationally registered architect, honored by election as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He was awarded the Silver Star for valor during his service in WW II and was recalled as an officer during the Korean War.

He retired as President/Managing Partner of SMS Architects of New York and Connecticut in 1982. During his professional career he was an active participant in the American Arbitration Association.

Von Brock was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy von Brock Salata; his brother, Harold L. von Brock, and his daughter, Alison Bracey von Brock.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Norma; his daughter, Meredith and husband Charles von Arentschildt, and grandson Charles Taylor von Arentschildt, all of Greenwich.

A memorial service will be announced later.

Remembrances may be made to the Friends of the Mathews Memorial Library, Box 127, Mathews, VA 23109.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
