Frank Blas Obituary
Uncle Frank - Familian Balaku (October 2, 1947 - February 22, 2008) Of Piti, was called home by our heavenly Father at the age of 60. Rosary is being prayed each evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Piti. Last respects will be held on Saturday, March 8th at Our Lady of Assumption Church beginnig at 8:00 a.m. and concluding at 11:30 a.m. Mass for a Christian burial will be offered at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Guam Veterans Cemetery in Piti, where we will bid him farewell and a peaceful rest.

I met 'Uncle Frank' during a softball game in 1996, and was a proud member of several of the Guam fastpitch softball teams he coached/managed over the years since then. I greatly appreciated his efforts to make my family and me feel welcome while on island. I will always remember the good times on the ballfield, and, of course, the potluck meals afterward. I will never forget the farewell barbeque he hosted at his home for us when we left Guam in 2006. 'Uncle Frank' certainly touched our lives in a very special way, and his memory will remain with us for many years to come.
