Dennis Ray Smithers Sr., 68, passed away in Cushman July 11, 2021.
Born in Lepanto in 1953, Dennis was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Numismatic Association. He portrayed the psycho backwoodsman Keller McGavin in "A Bothered Conscience" in 2006.
Preceded in death: father, Kenneth Smithers; sister, Mary Reynolds; and grandparents, Lee and Willie VanHorn.
Survivors: his wife of 43 years, Veta Smithers; son, Dennis Smithers Jr. (Angela); two daughters, Stephanie Gunther (Jonathon) and Ashley Smithers; four grandchildren; three siblings; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cremation and no funeral service were Dennis' requests.
