JACK PITTMAN Obituary

Jack Marlin Pittman, aged 89 years, passed away peacefully at his home in Batesville, Arkansas, on June 23, 2024. Jack was born on August 5, 1934, in Erath County, Texas, and grew up in Stephenville, Texas, where he graduated from Stephenville High School. He later graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, served in the Texas Army National Guard, and worked as a Certified Public Accountant in Dallas, practicing for fifty years before retiring.

Jack was known for his love of reading and cherished time spent with his loved ones. He was fortunate to have time after retirement to enjoy traveling around the world. He loved to play Texas 42, a family tradition for generations. Jack was also a prolific giver to charitable organizations, generously supporting many causes close to his heart. He enjoyed meeting his friends for morning coffee every week.

Jack is survived by his devoted and loving wife of sixty-four years, Joyce Green Pittman; his children, Wesley Marlin Pittman (Traci) of Midlothian, Texas, and William Cody Pittman, M.D. (Rosa) of Batesville, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Christopher Pittman (Jena), William Pittman, Miranda Pittman, Molly Blankenship (Jake), David Richey (Michea), Isaac Richey, Ela Richey, Hadley Richey, Joseph Palazzo, Patrick Palazzo (Christine), and Paige Palazzo; and his great-grandchildren, Logan Pittman, Ty Matyja, Blake Matyja, Bryson Matyja, Maverick Richey, Walker Palazzo, Wyatt Palazzo, Nathan Palazzo, and Jaxon Palazzo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford Marlin Pittman and Alleyne Seago Pittman.

A private family service will be held in honor of Jack's life. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas, and Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care.

I have admired Jack since I first met him. His kindness and generosity to virtually everyone he met. Probably the most unselfish person I´ve ever known. His sense of humor and just fun to be with are things I´ll miss the most.
