Marvin L. Lunsford, 93, lifelong area resident passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Pioneer Manor in Hugoton, Kansas.
The son of James Franklin and Faye Valentine (Johnson) Lunsford, Marvin was born April 17, 1931 in Texas County, Oklahoma north of Guymon. Marvin attended the Guymon school system, graduating with the GHS Class of 1949.
Marvin and Bonnie Lou Beer were married on January 21, 1950 at Clayton, NM. They had three children: Jerry, Mike and Sherry. Bonnie passed away on March 11, 1973. Marvin was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He was married to Dorothy Lee Folsom and Louise Quinn. They both preceded him in death. On July 13, 2015 Marvin and Mary Lee Fagala were married in Guymon and enjoyed each other's companionship. He was a member of the Guymon First Baptist Church and known for keeping an immaculate yard and property, both at the farm and later, living in town.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives: Bonnie, Dorothy and Louise; one daughter, Sherry Lunsford and one son, Mike Lunsford.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Lunsford of the home; one son, Jerry and Linda Lunsford of rural Guymon. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren: Lisa Robertson of Vine Grove, Kentucky, and her children: Kenneth Robertson and Allie Robertson; Ryan Lunsford and his wife, Ariana, of Los Angeles, California; Jerelyn and Chuck Atchison of El Reno, Oklahoma and children Tristan Atchison and Allison and Aaron Heupel and great-great grandson, Sawyer Heupel; Jerod and Alison Lunsford of West Columbia, South Carolina and their children, daughter, Julia Lunsford and son Davis Lunsford.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, March 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Guymon First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Carter and Wayne Fagala officiating. Burial will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
