Mr. Geoffrey A. Parson of Green Valley, Ariz., passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 29, 2015 at the age of 79.

Jeff is survived by his children Stacy Stephens of Colorado, Whitney Mayer of New Jersey, and Brian Kingan of California; his grandchildren Haley, Hannah and Gretchen; and his younger brother, Christopher Parson of Illinois. He is preceded in death by his wife, Roberta (Bobbie) Parson.

Jeff was born on June 24, 1936 in Evanston, Illinois to Tripp and Charlie Parson. He graduated from Stanford University in 1959 with a degree in industrial engineering and received a master's in industrial administration from Purdue University in 1963. He married Judith Taub (nee Pavel) and the couple welcomed Stacy and Whitney. In 1976, he married his cherished Bobbie and gained Brian as a son. The couple shared a wonderful 35 years of marriage. He will be remembered as a kind, loving husband and devoted father.

Jeff worked first for the E.H. Wachs Company and then was co-founder and president of Power Cutting Incorporated in Lake Bluff, Illinois. The couple lived happily in Lake Bluff until Jeff's retirement.

In 2000 they found their retirement dream home in Green Valley where they made many new and close friends, and he practiced jewelry making and enjoyed hiking. Jeff's quick wit and friendship will be missed by all.

Jeff's favorite location was at the family cottage on Pine Lake in northern Wisconsin. Each summer, all the generations of the Parson family gathered in the historic cottage built by Jeff's grandfather, Sven Parson. There he spent as many hours as possible practicing his favorite activity, fishing for largemouth bass.

A memorial service will be planned for summer in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Donations in his honor may be made to: the Providence-St. Mel School of Chicago, the Arthritis Foundation of Atlanta Georgia, or the American Cancer Society Illinois Division.
