Sally Cheney

1944 - 2025

Sally Marie (Robinson) Cheney, 81, went to her eternal home as the sun rose on November 19, 2025. The youngest of three children, Sally was born August 8, 1944 in Alhambra, CA and raised near Coos Bay, OR. She loved growing up with her "Greenacres Gang" who all became lifelong friends. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles where she met her dear Glenn Cheney and married him after a three month romance. The two would be together for 57 years until Glenn's passing in August 2022. In 1968 the couple moved to Tucson, AZ where they welcomed their daughters Lora and Cindy. When the girls were young, they moved to Sahuarita where they could enjoy their ranch house in the desert surrounded by their animals. Sally worked for Tucson Electric Power in their transportation department and retired after more than 20 years of service. She was an active member of the LDS church and loved the time she spent in the young women and Relief Society organizations. She was an amazing Mema to Sean and Kyra, supported them in all their activities and made sure they always knew how much they were loved. Sally was a wonderful friend to so many. Her smile would light up a room and her compassion and kindness could be felt by everyone she met. All who knew her loved her and her sweet soul will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A private service will be held on Friday, December 5th at Green Valley Mortuary & Cemetery. To honor Sally's giving nature, the family would be grateful for donations to a charity of your choosing in lieu of flowers.
