Victor Allen Silva, 71, passed away on December 12, 2024.
Born on February 10, 1953, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Hector and Grace Silva, Vic lived a life full of adventure, curiosity, and service. He graduated from Kiski High School and pursued studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Throughout his career, he worked at Lafayette Radio, co-owned an electronics store in Massachusetts, and dedicated time as a volunteer firefighter and a trained EMT. Later, he became a private contractor.
In 2020, Vic retired to Green Valley, AZ, after moving from Millersport, OH. He embraced retirement with enthusiasm, enjoying golfing, RVing, and motorcar sports. His friends and family fondly called him "MacGyver" for his remarkable problem-solving skills and ability to fix anything. Vic had an infectious positive attitude, a quick wit, and a sharp sense of humor. His tenacity and keen intellect made him a force to be reckoned with.
A natural leader, Vic was a devoted Cub Scout leader in his early years, always embodying the spirit of a Boy Scout - ready to lend a hand whenever needed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his brother, Robert, of Columbia, SC; two sons, Dan Silva (Monica) of Dorwood, MD, and Chris Silva (Sabrina) of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Michele Silva (Ryan O'Malley) of St. Paul, MN; and two stepdaughters, Lisa (Dan) Panzarella of Paonia, CO, and Cheri Grace of London, England. Vic also leaves behind four grandchildren and five step-grandchildren: Molly, Brian, Ryan, Samantha, Ted, Henry, Sophia, Elizabeth, and Charles.
A remembrance and visitation for family and friends will be held at 763 Calle Del Ensalmo, Green Valley, AZ 85614 (Esperanza Estates) on April 5 from 2 to 4 p.m.
