I HEARD YOUR VOICE IN THE WIND TODAY
From “Walking the Red Road”

I heard your voice in the wind today
as I turned to see your face;
The warmth of the wind caressed me
as I stood silently in place.

I felt your touch in the sun today
as its warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your warm embrace
And my spirit soared high.

I saw your eyes in the window pane
as I watched the falling rain;
It seemed as each raindrop fell
It quietly said your name.

I held you close in my heart today
It made me feel complete;
You may have died... but you are not gone
You will always be a part of me.

As long as the sun shines...
The wind blows...
The rain falls...

You will live on inside of me forever

for that is all my heart knows.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints of snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

For Kevin and Billy:

***

I SAW AN ANGEL FLY

I saw an Angel fly
Looked out the window this morning
Early December Day
Clear, cold, brisk
Looked toward the mountain
Saw the Angel
Flying on gossamer wings
Halo glimmering in the morning sun
I saw the smile
The perpetual eternal smile
And as that Angel looked down
She smiled at me
I saw an Angel fly

And that Angel looked a lot like

Kevin - It may be hard to believe this right know, but you are truly a very lucky man to have found a soulmate in Carmen, even for such a short time. I couldn't have asked for a better stepmom for Carleigh, and I will miss her, too. Let me know if you need anything. - Love, JoAnn

Kevin, Josh, and Donald,

We were so sorry to hear about the loss of Carmen. She was such a nice person. Everytime we saw her, she always had a smile on her face. We will always remember how she would come out to the ballpark to cheer the team on. She was there even if we were losing 15-0 or if it was freezing outside. She will be truly missed! You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know if you need anything.

Carmen: Love this quote over your computer:
Today I will choose to be happy.
Because happiness is a choice that we make ahead of time, especially when we are challenged with sorrows.

Carmen, You were an inspiration to all whose lives you touched. No matter what was happening you always had that smile! You started as a member of Contours, then as one of my employees then fulfilled yourdream ofowning the club when you purchased. Contours was like having another "family" and that "family" will miss you very much. You lived life to its fullest and are an inspiration to all whether it be your family, friends, members or the groups you belonged to. May we carry on your hopes and dreams in our hearts and everyday lives! I will miss you.
