Gordon was the Manager of Safety and Health at Georgia Power for several years. I was the Safety Consultant for Distribution and Transmission and spoke to Gordon every day. He would call me every morning on the way to 241, and we would chat about the upcoming day's activities. Sure, do miss him now. We continued to talk on the phone after I retired.

I had the pleasure of having Gordon umpire many of our baseball games through the years, then umpire along side him. He took my son under his wing and taught him everything he knew about umpiring.
It was a great pleasure knowing Gordon he touched many lives on the fields. I will miss him greatly. Godspeed and May you Rest In Peace.

I had the pleasure to work on Gordon's high school football playoff crew a few years ago, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Not only working the games, but the pregame meals, fellowship, comradery, and feeling of brotherhood. (Not to mention the conversations during the car rides to and from the sites, and obligatory chocolate milk on the trips back home!) I appreciate the lasting impact Gordon has had on my life and my officiating career. You will be sorely missed, Gordon. You were and will continue to be a role model in all aspects of life throughout the state of Georgia to many, many people. Thank you for all that you have done.
