Juanita Shelnutt Obituary

Juanita Shelnutt, age 78 of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away January 6th, 2007 from respiratory complications. Mrs. Shelnutt was blessed and survived by her four daughters, Mrs. Nancy and Mike Warren of Gilbert, AZ, Ms. Gerita Shelnutt-Milam and Carrie King of Lawrenceville, Mrs. Kim and Dana Russell of Loganville and Mrs. Tracy and John Pump of Newnan; one sister, Mrs. Jeanette (William) Hughes of Conyers and a large loving family of nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband, Frank “Gerald” Shelnutt, a distinguished Army Officer and Gwinnett County Deputy Sherriff and Justice of the Peace, preceded Mrs. Shelnutt in death in 1977. Mrs. Shelnutt was born in Fitzgerald, GA, attended and studied at Berry Academy in Rome and moved to Atlanta in her early twenties where she worked as a hairdresser. Other occupations included a long, successful career in sales working for Rich's. Mrs. Shelnutt was a strong, independent woman with an unforgettable sense of humor, a love for good food, cooking, music and beautiful country drives. Mama, our hearts go with you. Our love and memory of you will live forever and ever. Through the Glory, the Mercy and the Majesty of God, we celebrate your Homecoming to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and your reunion with Daddy. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel presided by Rev. Jerry Meredith with interment following at Prospect United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, GA. Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, 770-277-4550.
