ROACH, Bert E. Age 91, of Hamilton, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at 6 p.m. in Golden Years Health Care. He was born on June 6, 1924 in Hamilton, the son of Chester A. and Dema (Cornett) Roach. He was a WW II Veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps, serving from January 13, 1943 to January 13, 1945. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, receiving three Bronze Stars. He married Mildred Roach on June 28, 1946 in Covington Kentucky and she preceded him in death on April 2, 2007. He had been employed in the shipping department at Champion Paper Company for 40 years, retiring September 8, 1986. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Edward L. (Wanda) Roach, Hamilton, Larry Roach, Hamilton, Kathy (Douglas) Spitler, Cincinnati, Carol Sutfin, Hamilton and Deborah (Dave) Hurst, Hamilton; a brother, Chester G. Roach, Vallejo, California; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son, Ted Roach. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. with Rev. Orville Roach officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Flat Cemetery.
