News Death Notice

VIZEDOM, Douglas L. "Doug", age 70 of Hamilton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 14, 2011 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born April 28, 1940 in Hamilton, the son of the late Clarence and Hazel (Gephart) Vizedom. He was a graduate of Talawanda High School, Class of 1958, where he had the honor to serve as president of his senior class. On February 27, 1960 he married his high school sweetheart, Ginger L. Bauman. During this marriage of 50 years, they had two loving sons, Steven D. Vizedom of Camden, Ohio and Scott D. (Terri Dingledine) Vizedom of Hamilton. He leaves behind his wife, Ginger, two sons, and his four adoring grandchildren, Mackenzie, Tyler, Darrin and Alexandra. He also leaves his siblings, C. Neil Vizedom of Corbin, Kentucky, Dale A. (Alana) Vizedom of Hamilton, Kathleen A. Vizedom of Hamilton and sister-in-law, Monika Vizedom of Amherst, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his special grandson, Hayden L. Vizedom, his parents and a brother, Calvin J. Vizedom Doug enjoyed working on the family farm his entire life. He was active in the 4-H program and weighed all the steers for the Butler County Fair for many years. He retired in 2005 after 37 years of dedicated service from Butler Landmark/Harvest Land Co-op where he was a driver and later was manager of the Petroleum Division, Branch Manager of McGonigle and coordinator of all the branches. After one year of retirement he returned to work at the Seven Mile Branch in Feed and Fertilizer, where he still worked. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. with Pastor David K. Bauman officiating. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Doug Vizedom Scholarship Fund for Talawanda FFA in care of Dan Zimmerman, 101 W. Chestnut, Oxford, Ohio 45056.
