First, Leslie, Lynsey and your family - my heart breaks for you! What a guy, your Dad. I have many memories about Eddie and Denise. But, this one special friendship I want to tell you about was between my Mommy and your Dad. Because both were shy and many were loud, Mommy and Eddie formed a friendship that was so sweet. He would walk by at Church when he came and Mommy would smile from ear to ear. And she would say, "Eddie, how's my friend?" He would come right over and give her a big hug. She would tell everyone, including Denise, that he was a wonderful man. She said it many times, using many adjectives, always good. He even knew her favorite hymn was, "Because He Lives." Now, to know that, he had to be a close friend. And he was. And she loved him. And he is home with her now and she is probably saying the same things she always said to him and he is probably giving her a big hug. So sad for you, since the moment I heard. Losing parents are life defining. Stand strong in your faith. Blessings!
