News Death Notice

NEELY, Edwin Hugh "Hoot" 79, of Lebanon and a lifetime Warren County resident, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Atrium Medical Center. Born in South Lebanon on August 19, 1931 to Chester & Myrtle (nee: Arnold) Neely, he served in the U.S. Air Force and then retired from Cincinnati Electronics in 1992 after 31 years of service. Hoot was a member of the Lebanon F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, and the G.G.N.O. social club. He enjoyed golf, gardening, birdwatching and spending time with family. Preceded in death by his son, Mark Edwin Neely in 1977, his parents, one brother, Eugene Neely, and two sisters, Geraldine Toney and Imogene Halcomb, survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Patricia (nee: Briner) Neely, three daughters & sons-in-law, Julie & Ron Epp of Lebanon, Holly & Glenn Harper of Columbus and Lauren & Mike Beach of Gahanna, one brother & sister-in-law, Tom & Betty Neely of Huntsville, AL, and one sister, Betty Noe of Lebanon. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Katie & Conner Epp, Austin, Riley & Megan Harper, and Mallory & Emily Beach, and many other special family & friends. The visitation will be held Thursday, July 28th, 6-8:00 PM, with Masonic services at 7:30 PM, and funeral Friday, July 29th, 10:00 AM, all at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Reverend Peter Larson will officiate and interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. Memorials requested to American Heart Association. Online condolences available at www.hoskinsfh.com.

Pat, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember Hoot as a happy kind of guy that everyone liked. Junior always thought a lot of him, I know. I'm sure that you have a lot of good memories that will bring you comfort,Sincerely, Phyllis Cecil Elbon
