News Death Notice

BRAZELTON, Sr., Pastor Eric L. 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 23, 2012. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama on October 22, 1939 to parents Henry and Thelma (Bibles) Brazelton. Eric graduated from Fairmont High School in Dayton. He married Linda Marie Hamiel on March 12, 1960. Mr. Brazelton served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the military he started school to be an electrician, but a calling lead him to the ministry. After three years at the Pensacola Bible Institute, the Lord brought him back to Ohio and the Miltonville Baptist Church where he served for 40 years. Mr. Brazelton is survived by his wife, Linda Brazelton; son, Eric (Sharon) Brazelton Jr.; brother, Bill (Charlotte) Brazelton; sisters, Carol (Jim) Richardson, Virginia (Murray) Ross and grandson, Shane Brazelton; granddaughter, Taylor-Morgan Brazelton; great granddaughter, LayLa Sorrell. Eric was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ernie Williams. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Miltonville Baptist Church, 4475 Elk Creek Rd., Middletown with Assistant Pastor Jesse Combs officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Thursday prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at Miltonville Baptist Church. Interment will be at Miltonville Cemetery with military honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to Miltonville Baptist Church, 4475 Elk Creek Rd. Bro. Eric's pain and strife here on earth is over. He stayed true and faithful to God's word til God called him home. He was a long and faithful Pastor to Miltonville Baptist Church and touched all the congregation in a blessed way. Eric Jr and Linda...l know how much he is missed in your lives. My deepest condolances to Linda, "Little Eric", and the Miltonville church. It has been many years since Eric and I studied together for Bible School,did weekly visitation, preached on the radio every Sunday morning, and enjoyed the fellowship of his dear family.
He has entered into his rest in the Lord after many years of faithful service.
May the Lord raise up many more in his stead.

Our Preacher, our brother in the Lord, our friend...always faithful, always praying for us, and always there when we needed him, be it day or night for the past 34 years! We will surly miss you, but rejoice that you are no longer suffering and that you are now beholding the face of the Savior that you loved and served for so many years! What a blessed day when we are all reunited on the sunny shores of sweet deliverance!

Linda, Eric Jr. and family,

Bro. Eric was a wonderful pastor and friend to us for 40 yrs. It would take pages to explain all the wonderful things he did for us and alot of other people. Always at the hospital, visiting (even when he himself was sick) and helping anyone whenever and wherever he could. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather who showed his love for his wife, son and grandchildren every day. A great 1611 KJV Bible teacher and preacher. We feel so blessed to have known and loved him.
Bro. Eric knew how to fight the good fight and keep the faith as it says in II Timothy 4:7,8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing.

We know he is rejoicing with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and we'll see him again soon. What a great reunion day that will be! Until that day we will miss him very much.

So sorry for your family loss. I knew pastor Eric because Linda was my babysitter. He came to see me in the hospital when my youngest son was born & sent to Children's Hospital because of a birth defect. He prayed with me & for me. His visit had such a calming effect. Praying for your family.

Bro. Eric was a faithful servant of the Lord. He was a man of character and integrity. He was a true friend who was always an encouragement. Bro. Eric will be missed - our prayers are with Linda and their family as well as the congregation of Miltonville Baptist Church.

Preacher - not enough words to express how much you meant to our family - you were an additional father to my girls - we all loved you so much - I am sure you are grinning from ear to ear in the Pearly White City that you always sang about.
