SCHIERING, Erwin L. Erv Age 76 of Middletown, Ohio passed peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown with his family by his side. Born July 28, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio he was the son of David C. and Susan (Messerschmitt) Schiering. He was a lifelong resident of Middletown Ohio and retired from the Middletown Fire Department with 31 years service in 1982. He was a member of the "Dirty Dozen" firemen. On his off days on the Fire Department he ran Schiering Service, a Heating and Air company with his father. He loved working with wood and started his working years while in High School with Valley Kitchens as a Cabinet Maker. His family called him Erv and his friends called him Sarge. Sarge served his country with pride in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Sarge enjoyed spending time with all his Old Pals at the Fraternal Order of Orioles, The Elks, the American Legion and the Eagles. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, David and Susan Schiering of Middletown; his brother Robert C. Schiering of Middletown; and two brothers-in-law, Orville Agnew of Middletown and Frank McDaniel of Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Glynn Schiering; two sisters, Ruth Agnew of Middletown and Mary Lou McDaniel of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Viki Lozier, Susan Schiering and Stephanie Gray; a son and best friend, Bill Schiering; and one special sister-in-law who he thought of like a daughter, Linda Fall, her husband David of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Ryan Lozier, and his wife Suzanne, and Ben Lozier of Savannah, Ga., Alex Gray, Samantha Gray and Stacie Gray of Middletown, Ohio. Visitation will be held at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17 from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. with Middletown Fire Department standing honor guard. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18 at 10:00a.m. at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Woodside Cemetery.
