Jamie's Mom

Dear Ethan's Mom,
I want you to know I am thinking of you today. I know today is a VERY hard day.... Overwhelming! I know that you will go through your day wishing you could talk to him, hug him or just hear his voice. I believe with all my heart our Angels are with us always and today he will be staying extra close to you. I believe they give us signs if we open ourselves to see them. Look for a butterfly that watches you and is so close you feel like you could touch it. Watch for a moment when the suns warmth seems to be going straight inside your chest. Listen for a bird that seems to be singing for you only. Please open your heart and let him show you he has never left your heart! I know maybe these things seem like a stretch to make something out of nothing but I do believe it is real. There might be some other way Ethan will show you that he loves you and he is still with you always... just open your heart for him to say ... Hey Mom I am here! Talk to him today and tell him all your thoughts, your sadness and you happiness. Please remember how blessed you were and are to have had such a loving son. I know we both wanted to have our children stay with us and it will never make sense why they were called to Heaven so young... We will never know until we are with them again. Hold on to your beautiful memories of Ethan and all the love he had for you and you have for him. A mother's love is the most special love and it is eternal!
Sincerely,
Jamie's Mom

To Ethan's Mother,
I am so sorry for the loss of your child. I have walked in your shoes almost 10 years ago. My heart breaks for you and your family. I wish I had something to share with you that would ease your pain but I do not. The only thing I would share with you is this. Everyone will grieve differently in your family and no one will grieve like you do. You are his mother and you gave him life, you watched him grow, you protected him, and your love is the most precious love on this earth. My son showed me a few of Ethan's post and he loved you so much! Please understand there is no right or wrong things to do right now. You do whatever you need to heal and help your other children heal the best you can. Please try to remember how blessed you are for having such a wonderful son and for all your other children. I will pray for you and your family. My Jamie may live in Heaven now but she is forever with me. My loves still grows stronger every day for her and my other three children. I know my Jamie was standing by Heaven's gates to greet your Ethan with open arms and love.
With the deepest of sadness and heartbreak!

Such a tragic loss. Ethan was not only a wonderful student, but an equally wonderful person. I will never forget his kindness and caring that he consistently showed so many others -- both students and adults. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
