News Death Notice

HUGHES, Gertrude Gayhart age 95, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 at Bethesda Medical Center in Lebanon, OH. She was born February 22, 1915 in Hindman, KY to Kash and Ida Mae (Cox) Gayhart. She was a payroll clerk for Armco Steel Company for 30 years, retiring in 1975. Gertrude was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, 1st, Eugene Davis in 1988, 2nd, Chalmer O. Hughes in 2002; brother, Marvin Gayhart and 2 grandchildren, Freddy Davis and Greg Shockley. Gertrude is survived by her sons, Fred (Eleanor) Davis and Jerry (Sally) Davis both of Monroe; step-daughter, Saundra Lynn Sterns of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, Jennifer Davis, Karlena McKenzie, Shelly Davis, Barry Shockley, Steve Davis, Karen Redmond and Joseph Davis; several great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Theda) Gayhart of Middletown and her sister, Marie Dunaway of Cumberland, KY. Visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2010 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Art Wilson officiating. Interment will be at the Woodside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1601 Jackson Lane, Middletown, Ohio 45044.
