News Death Notice

PRIDEMORE, Jack M. Age 87, of Hamilton died early Tuesday morning, June 21, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Gibson Station, Virginia on March 18, 1924 the son of John M. and Cora A. (Rose) Pridemore. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Pacific Theater in WWII from 1943 to 1946. He married Nancy Griffin on May 1, 1948 in Covington, Kentucky and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2010. He had been employed as a cutter foreman for Champion Papers for 33 years, retiring in 1979. He was a former volunteer, captain and safety officer of the Millville Fire Department, retiring in 2001 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Liberti and husband, John of Rockport, Texas; his son, Donald E. Pridemore of Hamilton; two brothers, Jim Pridemore and wife, Dora of Port Richey, Florida and Harold Pridemore of New Port Richey, Florida; a sister, Bettie Pridemore Vogt of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Michelle Roa and husband, Dennis, Donald Eugene Pridemore and Brad Baldridge; four great grandchildren, Christian and Levi Baldridge and Jacob and Jenna Roa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, Bill, Tom and Ralph Pridemore and a sister, Ruby Busch. Funeral services will be Friday, June 24, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. with Rev. Larry Uczen officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service.
