News Death Notice

JONES, Linda Linda Jones, age 64, of Oxford, was quietly ushered to her new heavenly home on Tuesday April 20, 2010 at 7:20 am, after a short illness. She was born February 10, 1946 in Hamilton, and was educated in the Reily School District. Her love for her family, church, friends and Miami University was astounding. Linda worked at Miami University as manager of Martin Dining Hall. She dedicated 42 years of service to Miami University and still hadn't considered retirement. She was an integral part of her family's lives and will be deeply missed. She was an avid sports fan, especially for Miami University and the Talawanda School District. Linda also served under many committees and organizations such as Butler County 4-H, Junior Fair Board and at her local church as Sunday School Secretary and Treasurer, Hospitality Chairman and Nursery worker among others. Linda had a fearless knack for honesty and dedication. She devoted much of her time to supporting and enjoying her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Jean Bower and her grandparents. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Crystal (Bob) Huff; two grandchildren, Ashley (Jim) Burns and Austin Huff; three brothers, Mike (Gloria) Bower, Dick (Peggy) Bower and Randy (Nancy) Bower; and one sister, Tonda (Ron) Reece. Also surviving and very important to her were her five nieces and four nephews and many other special friends and relatives. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at University Hospital, Drake Hospital, Berkeley Square and Hospice of Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following: Linda Jones Memorial Fund at Colonial Foundation, 520 Eaton Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013, Tri-County Church of the Nazarene, 4778 Tylersville Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011 or the Linda Jones Talawanda Memorial Fund, 131 W. Chestnut, Oxford, OH 45056. Visitation will be held at Webb Noonan Funeral Home on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 5-8pm and funeral services will be held at Tri-County Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10am. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park. Condolences may be left for the family at www.webb-noonan.com

I will miss waiting outside the nursery at church for Linda to greet me with that wonderful giggle. The ways she assisted me in things I needed for our Mother /Daughter banquet was so appreciated .That was Linda always there when she was needed.

You said it right when you said honest. I worked for Linda for a short time at Miami and she was absolutely the best person to work for. In fact I told her the same thing. Her reply was, "You have got to be kidding me." Linda will be missed. Please remember the good times. She would have wanted it that way.
