STEPHENSON, Marilyn Ruth Age 73, lifelong resident of Hamilton, Ohio passed away at Mercy Franciscan Schroder on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 10:26 a.m. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 4, 1932 the daughter of Carl E. and Ruth A. (Johns) Fismer who were the owner/operators of the Lyric Theater, and was the stepdaughter of Robert W. Corson. She was united in marriage to Stanley E. Stephenson on February 6, 1954 in St. Stephen's Church, Hamilton, Ohio. Stanley preceded her in death on April 30, 1999. Marilyn was a 1951 graduate of Notre Dame High School and after raising her children returned to Miami University graduating as a registered nurse in 1977. A devoted Catholic, Marilyn was a member of St. Peter in Chains Church and a past member of St. Mary's Church in Oxford. She was a Eucharistic Minister, served on Parish Council, taught CCD, and participated in CRHP retreats as well as many youth retreats to Vanceburg, Kentucky. Marilyn was very active in all her daughters' school events and served as a community volunteer for many local agencies. Upon receiving her nursing degree, Marilyn worked at Schroder Manor, the Butler County Care Facility, Plantation Key Nursing Facility in the Florida Keys, and Fort Hamilton Hospital. She was always drawn to the needs of the elderly patient and tended to them with great compassion. She leaves her five daughters and their husbands Carla and Larry Fiehrer, Barbara and Ray Weber, Terry and Craig Jacobs, Beth and Ted Crew and Beverly and Ricky Tuttle; eleven grandchildren, Katie and Nick Dendinger, Matthew Fritsch and his fiancée Jodi Schroeder, and Anne Fiehrer, Raymond and Nicholas Weber, Joseph and Kyle Jacobs, Cameron, Rachel and Grace Crew and Derek Wasson, and one great- granddaughter Megan Dendinger; one brother Carl E. Fismer III and his children Lee and Lynn, one sister Pamela Spaulding and her husband Ray and their children Jason and Jamie; one sister-in-law Jenny Williams and her children Kenny and Kathy; and many other loving family members and a host of friends. Prayers will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's in Chains at 10:00 a.m. with Father Timothy Bunch celebrant and Father Ray Leurck and Father Marc Sherlock con-celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Gone from us too soon, Marilyn will be greatly missed. The family asks that you remember her in a donation to Vitas Hospice Care, 11500 Northlake Drive, Suite 400, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249, and would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Mercy Franciscan Schroder, Dr. Harry Davin and Vitas Hospice for their care and support.

Katie, Matt, Carla and families. Mel and I were sad to read about the death of your grandmother and Carla, your Mother. I know she will be greatly missed by you all, our thoughts and prayers are with you at your time of sorrow..God Bless you..I had met Marilyn on several occasions and she was a very happy and vibrant person. May she Rest in Peace.

Marilyn was always a person who believed in the importance of family. She always made me feel very important on my visits to Hamilton. Heaven has just received a truly compassionate person who has no doubt already volunteered her services.
