Mildred Sackenheim Obituary


News Death Notice

SACKENHEIM, Mildred "Grandma" age 99 of Okeana passed away in Golden Years Nursing Center on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 7PM. She was born in Hamilton on October 7, 1910, the daughter of John and Clara (Issenmann) Ritzie. She was a member of the Post Office Auxiliary. On November 26, 1936 in Hamilton, she was married to August Sackenheim and he preceded her in death in 1972. She is survived by one son, John (Martha) Sackenheim of Okeana; one daughter, Josephine (Larry) Timmer of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, William (Sue) Timmer of Cincinnati, Kitty (Dan) Vanderpool of Hamilton, Becky (Dan) Kreynest of St. Louis, Missouri, David (Dawana) Timmer of Hamilton, Michelle (Steve) Ittner of Hamilton, Phil (Missy) Sackenheim of Millville and Dawn Frank of Waynesville and also eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Charles, Edward, Gene, Fritz, Adrian and Albert Ritzie and two sisters; Helen Flynn and Marie Taylor. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10AM with Deacon Phil Sackenheim, her grandson, of the Grace Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5PM to 8PM. The family requests memorials to Destiny Hospice, 4350 Glendale-Milford Rd. #110, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45242 or to the Golden Years Activity Fund. www.browndawson.com
