News Death Notice
STATUM, Mitzie Dianne In loving memory of Mitzie Dianne Statum, sweet, loving daughter, born June 9, 1962 in Munich, Germany went to be with our Lord on August 28, 2009 after succumbing to cancer. She leaves behind her father and mother, Joseph and Alma Statum, one brother Joseph (Traci) Statum, two nephews, Cody and Tyler, two nieces, Micayla and Caytlin of Oxford. Also two aunts she loved so much, Prudy Stanley and Dee Caudill. Mitzie leaves behind many other friends and family who she loved dearly. Visitation will be at the Oxford Church of God, 5450 College Corner Pike, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2009 with the funeral at 10:30 a.m., September 1, 2009 a Oxford Church of God. Rev. J. Stephen Statum will officiate the service assisted by Pastors Rick Witt and Larry Stevenson. She will be laid to rest in the Oxford Cemetery. Donations in Mitzi's memory may be made to Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton or the Oxford Church of God. www.smithoglefuneralhome.com

I only have sweet memories of Mitzie. You couldn't find a more pure hearted, loving person than she was. Though we had not seen each other in a long time I loved her and I know she loved me. Heaven must be rejoicing at her homecoming and it won't be long until we are all there with her. Joe, Alma, Joey and family, I love all of you and am lifting you in prayer every day. I am so very sorry for your loss. Joe has painted a beautiful picture of a loving sister that he dearly loved, and I know she will be truly missed by the entire family. Her life has touched many and I know she is in heaven now singing praises.

We were so sorry to hear about your loss, Mitzie was like a part of our families. We know that she is with mom and dad now and the first thing she said was "I love you guys". Wish we could be here in Alabama with Jan and Dave.
