News Death Notice

WILSON, Myrtle Blossom Age 99 ½, of Middletown, Ohio passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Mount Pleasant Assisted Living in Monroe, Ohio where she had resided for nine years. Myrtle was born to Molly and Curtis Blossom on December 11, 1916 in Middletown, Ohio and lived here all her life. She graduated from Middletown High School. She and her husband Charles were married for 73 years. In her early years of marriage she was employed at Armco in the Employment Office, but became a full time homemaker after the birth of her son in 1944. Myrtle was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She was an avid Reds fan and enjoyed watching them on TV and listening to them on the radio. Thank you is not nearly enough to say to the staff of Mt. Pleasant, they loved and cared for Myrtle and will miss her just as we will. Also thank you to the team from Vitas Hospice, we appreciate all you did for her. Preceding her in death were her parents, Molly Hummel and Curtis Blossom, her husband, Charles T. Wilson in October 2009 and her infant son Tommy in June 1944. She was the eldest of five siblings, all who passed before her, Robert and Curtis Blossom, Mildred Koepple, Edna Ellis and Helen Cornele. She is survived by daughter Barbara Wilson; granddaughter Amy Patrick and husband Scott; great grandson Arron Hayes and wife Renee; great-great granddaughter Rylie Hayes; two great-great grandsons, Brandon and Logan Patrick; step-grandson, Ben Patrick; nieces and nephews, Deborah, Carol and Don Ellis, Doug Koepple, Judy and Sue Blossom, and Judy Weidner and husband Charles; brother-in-law, Dick Cornele; and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, June 3, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 12:00 noon with Pastor Todd Wallen officiating. Interment will follow at Woodside Cemetery. There will be a luncheon in the fellowship hall at the Home Avenue First Church of God in Trenton. Please come and join the family. In lieu of flowers, we request donations for the Hark Angels Mission in care of Home Avenue First Church of God, 426 East Home Avenue, Trenton, Ohio 45067. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Condolences may be made to the family at www.herr-riggs.com.

Myrtle was an absolute sweeheart and I had the joy of getting to know her and helping take care of her for 4 years. She was always concerned about others and always talking about her family. She was the most wonderful lady :) Your lunch table is complete in heaven Myrtle :)
