I am saddened to find the passing of Phyllis Neumann. As a fellow staff member from the "good old days" of Edgewood High School, we were full of energy, fearless in our mission, and willing to accept the challenges in striving to reach our goals. Those days are long gone but the memories have not been erased. My personal memory of Phyllis is how she led the charge in the "women are great personalities, too" movement. Those who were there will know what that means. My sympathies for the family and friends of one of the bulwarks of that Edgewood High School staff.

Jim,

Mrs. Neumann taught all of my children and my husband Jim taught with Phyllis at Edgewood H.S. We enjoyed the friendship we shared with her. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. May the memories we all have comfort each of us. She was a wonderful role model. God bless.

Phyllis was my teacher in high school, my cooperating teacher during student teaching, and my mentor during the most impressionable time of my life. Along with Tom Romano, she is responsible for the teacher I am today. Her kindness, generosity, and terrific sense of humor will be missed. I wish for peace for her loved ones.

I am so sad to hear of Mrs. Neumann's passing. I had her for Shakespeare & Creative Writing. I have nothing but fond memories and a deep admiration for her. Rest in peace, Mrs. Neumann, and thank you. EHS class of 76

While Phyllis taught both our daughters, and did a terrific job, but she was most special to me because she encouraged me to re-enter teaching full time after a lengthy hiatus on my part. She would request me as her substitute teacher when she had to be out of the classroom and then she would assure me that I had taught the classes exactly what she needed them to know. She was a great lady. Our prayers are with her family.

As a freshman so long ago Miss Mastin taught me so much more than academics with her great desire to broaden the horizons of all her students. And I was greatful as Mrs. Neumann taught and guided my children. She was a wonderful person and although I know you feel her loss so dearly, please understand that many, many others share this grief with you. She was a great leader for the future generations that she taught.

Jim:
Even though it's been 20 years since you frequented the halls of Armco Research, there are still some of us who recall your pleasant demeanor, thorough professionalism and your insights into energy and life in general (who could forget the fancy "do good club" clock?). I wanted you to know that you are in our prayers during this difficult time. May you and your family find solcae in the hope and promise of eternal life.

Wishing you and your family peace.
With deep condolences on behalf of those of us at Research privileged to work with you -

Mrs Neumann was a fabulous teacher. I performed my first Shakespeare monologue in her class. She encouraged creativity and allowed students to be unique. I have always treasured what I learned in her classes. I will add her name to the long list of reasons why I walk the 3 day.

Mrs Neumann influenced my life greatly. She was intelligent, classy, funny and loved teaching. I have often spoke of her to my daughter. I spoke of how she treated us like we were college students, expected a great deal more of us than most teachers and guided us through those awkward teen years. She prepared me well for college and I am so fortunate to have known her. Many thoughts and positive energy go out to you. We have lost a beautiful soul.
