News Death Notice
SHELEY, Pyrl F. 68, of West Elkton, Ohio, died Saturday, August 20, 2011. Born on January 9, 1942 in New Burlington, Ohio, son of the late, Vernon "Pop" & Edith A. (Vannatta) Sheley. Pyrl retired in 2005 from the Dayton Daily News after 37 years as Manager of the late Governor Cox Farm in Jacksonburg, Ohio. Preceded by his brother, John C. Sheley in 1970; sister, LaVerne Marlatt; granddaughter, Summer Brooke Sheley in 1987. Survived by his wife, Judith A. Sheley of West Elkton, Ohio; son & daughter-in-law, Tim & Misty Sheley of Trenton, Ohio; daughters & sons-in-law, Cyndy & Steve "Gabby" Gabbard of Somerville, Ohio, Janie Bratton of Middletown, Ohio, and Jodie & Darren Zwolinski of LaPlata, Maryland; brother & sister-in-law, Paul & Rosemary Sheley of McClure, Ohio and Carl & Sharon Sheley of Lewisburg, Ohio; sisters & brother-in-law, Carol Bradburn, Jeanette Farquer, and Marie & Joe Mack all of Blanchester, Ohio; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Nein Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio 45311 with Rev. Gary Agee officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmound Cemetery in West Elkton, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the funeral home. To Judy Sheley and family:
So sorry to hear of Pyrl's passing. Many years ago I worked on the cox farm with Pyrl. looking back I have fond memories of Pyrl and the cox farm. He was a good man. Many times I thought about stopping and seeing him but time seems to slip away. Our thougts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow.
