Robert Robke Obituary

ROBKE, Robert Lee Age 79 of Plymouth, MA, formerly of Huron, KS and Dayton, OH passed away at Stafford Hill Assisted Living Community in Plymouth, MA on March 6, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Howard) Robke and cherished father of Dr. Suzanne Brock of Clearwater, FL, Dr. Gregory Robke of East Sandwich, MA and Dr. Jason Robke of Cleveland, OH. Bob was born in Axtel, Kansas on December 18, 1938 to August Robke and Rose Hunninghake. He served in the United States Navy before attending the University of Dayton where he received his Master's Degree in electrical engineering. He worked for NCR and was instrumental in designing the first ATM cash dispensing machines. He transitioned to classified intelligence work when he later worked for Wright Patterson Air Force Base. While retiring from Wright Patterson, he stayed busy with volunteering at the National Museum of the USAF (Wright Patterson Air Force Museum). He was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2007. Bob also enjoyed a lifetime of creative engineering that included launching rockets with his children and the neighborhood kids, as well as tinkering in his basement workshop.
