Samuel MINK

1936 - 2016

MINK, Samuel P. Age 80, of Farmersville, OH, passed away at Sycamore Hospital, Friday December 2, 2016. He was born in Bean Station, TN, on October 5, 1936, to the late Ruby M. (Moore) and Wiley E. Mink. He retired from McCall's/Dayton Press after 26 years of service; and later worked for TRW ~ Vehicle Safety Systems, in Arizona. Sam was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army ~ serving from 1959 - 1962 in the 1st Armor Tank Division, nicknamed "Old Ironsides". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary E. Mink on March 7, 2016; and his step-mother, Louella Mink. He is survived by his son, Ted Samuel Mink; his daughter, Celia Victoria "Vicky" Hall and his grandson, Corey Matthew Hall; his sisters, Marie Rolfe and Janice (Herman) Mutter; his aunt Bebe Dickerson; several close Banner family brothers and sisters-in-law; and multiple cousins. Over the years Sam also made many friends through his involvement with his son in the Motorcycle racing community and the local Auction community. He will be well remembered for his humbleness and kind heart. He will be sadly missed by many. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. - 12 Noon (2 hours prior to the Service), Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the First Church of God, 760 Farmersville Pike, Germantown, OH, where the Memorial Service will follow at 12 Noon, with Pastor Steve Carney officiating.
