Thomas Prebles Obituary
News Death Notice
PREBLES, Thomas C. 76, of Monroe, formerly of Trenton, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 2, 1931 to parents Joseph and Teresa (Tomasco) Prebles. Tom worked as a sales and leasing manager for Columbia Olds, retiring in 1992 after 24 years of service and then worked part time at Sharon Woods Golf Course. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in the yard, boating, was a pilot and an avid motorcyclist. Tom was a great husband and father and is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Kolos) Prebles; a daughter, Suzanne (Gary) Sloneker; four sons, Dudley (Catherine) Prebles, Derek (Kimberly) Prebles, Gregg (Patrice) Prebles, and Scot (Leah) Prebles; two brothers, Joseph (Nancy) Prebles and Clement (Cheryl) Prebles; and thirteen grandchildren, Elizabeth Prebles, Eric Prebles, Lindsey Prebles, Andria Prebles, Kaylee Prebles, Ryan Prebles, Michael Prebles, Scot Prebles II, Joseph Prebles, Kevin Sloneker, Christopher Sloneker, Katie Sloneker, and Sophie Sloneker. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the physicians and staff at Atrium Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 30, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 222 Hamilton Ave., Trenton, with Father George Klein celebrant. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at Woodside Mausoleum with military honors conducted by Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Middletown, 1131 Manchester Ave., Middletown, OH 45042 OR - Holy Name Catholic Church, 222 Hamilton Ave., Trenton, OH 45067.
