Family-Placed Obituary


WHITAKER, Tommy Age 53, of Marianna, Florida, died at George County Regional Hospital in Lucedale, Mississippi, on Monday, February 26, 2007. Born on August 5, 1953, in Hyden, Kentucky, he is the son of Kathleen (Sturgill) Whitaker Chesnut and the late Ray Whitaker. Tommy was a 1971 graduate of Garfield High School. He enjoyed reading the Bible and professing a Christian life. He also enjoyed music, playing his guitar and bowling. Tommy is survived by his mother and step-father, Kathleen and Bill Chesnut of Hamilton; mother of his children, Nancy Whitaker of Hamilton; daughters JoAnn Hicks and her husband Michael of Hamilton; Amy Whitaker of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Amber Whitaker, Jacob Lubbers, Michael Hicks and Joel Hicks; brother, Ray Whitaker and his wife Valorie of Hamilton; and two sisters, Brenda Neugebauer and her husband Bob of Hamilton, and Debbie Fisher of Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews. His grandson, Devin Tillett, also preceded Tommy in death. Private services by Pastor Ron Howard of the Morning Star Christian Fellowship will be held at the convenience of the family.
