Anita Rae "Ann" Thaxton Griffith, 86 years old of Pumpkin Center, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 8, 2021.
She was born in South Charleston, West Virginia on September 23, 1934. Ann moved to Louisiana in 1970 with her husband who was on a temporary job assignment. After falling in love with the state, they decided to live out their remaining life, raising their family, in Louisiana.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and friend. Ann was an avid gardener, excellent seamstress, and superior cook. A fresh pot of coffee and tasty treats could always be found in her home. Her house was filled with quilts, pillows, and curtains she made. Taking care of those she loved was especially important to Ann. Her greatest accomplishments in life were her children and grandchildren.
Ann leaves behind her son, Mike Griffith (Robin) of Springfield; daughters, Julie Boehm (Calvin) of Pumpkin Center and Janet Claus of Spring, Texas; grandchildren Shea Griffith (Brandi); Shanie Griffith Dickens (Johnny); Megan Boehm; Matthew Claus (Jessica); Michael and Nathan Claus; great-grandchildren, Sydni Griffith; Peyton Dickens; Brant Dickens, and Kenedi Griffith.
Ann was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Kenneth "Ken" Griffith; her parents, Alvie "Dodd" and Thelma Thaxton; brother, Robert Thaxton and sister, Dena Huffman.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the graveside service at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana, on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Anita "Ann" Griffith to Bridgeway Hospice, 13702 Coursey Blvd. #5b, Baton Rouge, LA 70827.

Many of my most precious childhood memories were with Mawmaw. She was the most loving and caring grandmother a boy could ever have.
