Benjamin Cleon Starkey, dedicated Husband, Son, and Dad passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the age of 45. He was born on Saturday, January 20, 1979, in Hammond and grew up in Ponchatoula.
Ben was well known for his big heart and his love for his family. Anyone who was blessed enough to cross paths with Ben was able to see his passion for everything he did. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply spending an evening with friends, Ben made the most of it, and he did it with an excitement that was contagious.
He had a love for taking road trips anywhere with family and friends. But it was no secret that taking off to the Smokies with his wife, Aimee and their two boys, Mason and Cole, was definitely his favorite place. If "World's Best Dad" was an award, it was made for men such as Benjamin.
He shared his undeniable love for life with Mason and Cole, every chance he had. If you knew him at all, then you know that they were inseparable. It was a bond like no other. So many conversations with Ben were always filled with stories about how much he learned from his own Mom and Dad, as well as memories he was looking forward to making with Aimee and his boys.
There is so much that the world will miss about our friend, Benjamin Starkey. It is certain that Ben's place in our hearts will always remain special.
Ben is survived by his wife, Aimee Cicardo Starkey; sons, Mason & Cole Starkey; parents, Gregory Carl "Muff" Starkey, Sr. & Kathleen Sparnecht Starkey; mother-in-law, Marilyn Danos Cicardo; sister-in-law, Stacey Cicardo Bordelon (Trevor); along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Carl Starkey Jr.; grandparents, Amos Starkey, Clonnie Hess Starkey, David Hess, Raymond Sparnecht, Sr., and Ethelmae Sparnecht; father-in-law, James Edward "Eddie" Cicardo; and Aimee's grandmother, Ouida Foret Danos, whom Ben shared a close bond.
