Devonta Lee Obituary
Devonta Darell Lee was born December 28, 1999, in Hammond, Louisiana. He passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Raised in Fluker, Devonta graduated from Amite High School in 2019. A gifted athlete known as "Megatron," he played wide receiver at Louisiana State University and later at Louisiana Tech University. Devonta courageously battled osteosarcoma with unwavering faith and strength.
Please join his family in honoring his life. Visitation: Saturday, March 7, 2026, 11:00 A.M.–1:00 P.M., Faith Temple Church, 11605 Fontana Ln, Independence. Celebration of Life: 1:00 P.M. Faith Temple Church. Interment:Fluker Chapel AME Cemetery, 12710 Joynton Road. All professional services are entrusted to B.J. Ginn Funeral & Cremation Services, 61077 Bennett Road Amite.

I never had the privilege of meeting this young man but have followed his days from being a highly-respected Amite High School student through staying the same in his college days. He never let his successes or growing fame change him, always thoughtful and caring and dearly loved by all who knew him. He made us all so proud. I join others in praying for his family. We will not forget this special one who touched so many lives for good in his short time on Earth.
