Diana Riederer, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born on April 12, 1951, in Peoria, Illinois, and was a resident there most of her life. Diana was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She graduated from Illinois State University and later in life received her Masters of Library Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She held various positions as a librarian for over 25 years and was recently branch manager for the Hammond Public Library until she retired for health reasons. Diana was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, Illinois, as well as Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond.
Diana is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Joe Riederer; three children, David Riederer (Lauren), Tommy Riederer (Jen) and Anna Feldon (Tyrone); eight grandchildren, Oliver, Isaac, Augustine, Nina, Salette, Joseph, Cory, and Andre.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother who raised her, Mary Moore, and her mother Mary Maxine Schutt.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Visitation will continue at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass begins at 11:00 am.
Interment at Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery in Saint Benedict, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diana's name to the Tangipahoa Parish Library Hammond, 314 East Thomas St. Hammond, Louisiana 70401.
