Hollis Gerald Milton, Sr., of Baptist, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on the morning of December 2, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on November 28, 1942, in Baptist, Louisiana, the second of three children born to the late Mack Milton, Sr. and Almanzie Bignar Milton.
Known to many as Gerald or Uncle Gerald, he was a devoted husband, father, uncle, and grandpa, remembered for his unwavering discipline, quiet strength, and deep love for those around him. Gerald was married to his beloved wife, Catherine Milton, for 53 years. He worked for many years at Shell in Geismar and Exxon in Baton Rouge. Outside of work, he found joy in farming, working on tractors, watching NASCAR, and collecting antiques.
Gerald is survived by his son, Hollis Milton, Jr., his daughter-in-law Nikki Milton, and his grandchildren, Eli and Anna Milton. He is also survived by his brother, Mack Milton, Jr., his sister-in-law Mattie Pier and her husband Larry Pier, along with many nieces and nephews who meant so much to him. In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald was preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Marie Milton.
Pallbearers will be, Mark Anthony, Aaron Courtney, Darren Milton, David Milton, Gary Milton, and Eli Milton.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West Hammond, LA. on Friday, December 5, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, December 6, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Bro. Joshua Payne will officiate with interment to follow in Carter Cemetery.
