Linda Coats Obituary
Linda Joyce Knight Coats passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at her residence in Albany, Louisiana, at the age of 77. She was born on Friday, June 20, 1947, in Ponchatoula. Linda loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed antiquing, collecting dolls, and finding treasures. She loved attending church, listening to gospel music, and cherished family gatherings.
Linda is survived by her beloved family: her children, Jerod "T Butch" Coats, Jr. (Jennifer), Melinda Coats Zalson, Rhonda Coats Jubin (David), and Jamie Coats (Christina); brothers, Garry Knight (Marie) and Glen Knight; grandchildren, Desha Coats Bethel (Logan), Jerod "Trey" Coats, III (Kelsey), Briann Zalson, David Jubin, Jr. (Allaina), Jesse Jubin (Hayley), Erica Jubin Price (Austin), Justin Coats, and Jacy Coats; great-grandchildren, Emmy-Kate Bethel, Kelly-Ann Bethel, Donovan Coats, Delaney Coats, Jayden Zalson, Mason Lampkin, Ella Owens, Blakelyn Jubin, Brooke Jubin, Blaire Jubin, Rowan Jubin, Lillie Jubin, and Kameron Price; and spouse, George Anthony, Jr. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerod "Butch" Coats; parents, Jesse Knight and Lois Wells Knight; son-in-law, Ralph Zalson; grandson, Jeremy "Blake" Zalson; brothers, Jerry Knight, George Knight, Wilson Knight, and Larry Knight; and sisters, Rhoda Knight Pittman, Liz Knight Desmond, Delores Knight Pierre, and Terri Knight McKnight.
The Coats family extends their gratitude to Tiffany Stewart and Richard Herring, Jr. for their compassionate care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, March 28, 2025, in the chapel of LN Hughes Funeral Services, 21400 South I-12 Service Road, Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at 11:00 am. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am until the service begins at 11:00 am.
The interment will be held in Carter Cemetery, Springfield, Louisiana.
