I think Matt Mathes covered it welllet it suffice to say that Mark was a classmate and friend who left us far too soon and will be sorely missed by many. Rest easy Mark; you left an indelible impression upon all who had the pleasure of knowing you.

Mark Griggs will be sorely missed, a light in our lives, who left fond memories as a friend, a neighbor, and classmate. Mark was a great conversationalist from his travel, hosted guests, knowledge and interest ranging from astronomy to zoology. His friendship, humor, generosity, empathy, popularity and loyalty among his family, friends, employees and community was extraordinary. Mark was a petroleum engineer, company founder and owner, bank co-founder and director, real estate and energy sector investor, parish and city police captain, global traveler and an all around great guy everyone could count on. He was also enjoyed motorcycling, basketball and track, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting. His public service leadership included South Tangipahoa Port Commission roles. Mark was always proud to tell everyone everywhere he went that he was from Ponchatoula, truly an all American.
