Sal was called to his heavenly home on Monday, August 23, 2021, at the age of 74.
He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, where he was known to be a dedicated family man who loved and adored his family. Sal was a committed member of St. Joseph's Catholic church for over 45 years. He was the backbone of morning Mass, leading the rosary every morning for the church. Sal was very devoted to our Blessed Virgin Mary. He was a board member of The Miracle of The Rosary Mission. Sal was a licensed Ham Radio Operator who would often speak in Morse Code to people around the world. He also enjoyed tending to his garden.
Sal was a doting husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose compassion, and kindheartedness will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Phiney Yenni; daughter, Tara Slaton (Oscar); sons, Todd Yenni (Wendy) and Salvador "Sal" J. Yenni III (Carmen); brother, Ronald Yenni; sisters, Geralyn Lavarine (John) and Joann Lizana (Bruce); grandchildren, Jake, Noah, Caroline, Samuel, Preston, Malloree, and Olivia.
Sal was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Chetta Yenni; sister, Rosalind Yenni.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson, 1190 Hwy 51 North Ponchatoula, on Monday, August 30, 2021 beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Father McDuffie will officiate The Mass of Christian Burial that will follow at 11:00 a.m. held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponchatoula. The interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hammond, LA.
