He enjoyed going to parades, competition with his mules and won many events. I was on vacation in Yellowstone when Horseshoe Dave called to tell me that Smoky had passed. Although I only knew him a short time, I was thrilled to meet him and your family. My thoughts are with you all.

A leader and mentor. A man among men. My west coast dad and my great friend. You will always be in my heart. If heaven brings you only a portion of the happiness you have brought to us, you will be forever smiling. I love you and will miss you deeply.

You folks opened your arms and welcomed me into the family. Our time was short, oh so rich in memories.

Bernita and family - Manuel was a true gentleman and I am thankful that I had the pleasure of knowing him. His work in years past with the children in our 4-H programs was so very special. The horse shows at your place were great! Oh, and Valley Long Ears and the Hanford Mule Shows! They were great too! I am confident that my Dad (Harley) and "Uncle" Louie are welcoming Manuel in heaven! Blessings and comfort to each of you. Virginia
