NORMA CLAUDINE MATHIS

December 14, 1934 – July 24, 2025

On July 24, 2025 Norma Mathis was called to her heavenly home.

Norma Claudine (Bray) Mathis was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on December 14, 1934. She moved to California before she started school and proudly graduated from Lemoore High School in 1952. In 1953 she met her husband of 45 years Pryor McKinley Mathis Jr. while they both worked at J.C. Penney. They were blessed with 2 children Sheryl born in 1959 and Mark born in 1960.

Norma was a member of PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization), Beta Sigma Phi, and Church of Christ. She volunteered many hours for Make a Wish Foundation.

For the last two years Norma resided at Valley Christian Home. Her family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers whom became her dear friends.

A graveside service will be held Monday, August 4, 2025, at 10 a.m.in the Grangeville Cemetery.

Norma is survived by her son, Mark Mathis and Wife Diane, Granddaughter Melanie Mathis Jones and Husband Eric, Grandson Kevin Mathis and Wife Casey, Grandson Nick Parrish and Wife Jess, Granddaughter Meghan Burchard and Husband Mike, Great Grandchildren Taylor Mathis, Andi Jones, Avery Mathis, Landon Jones, Reid Mathis, Molly Parrish, Brooklyn Burchard, CC Parrish, Colton Burchard and Crew Burchard. Sister Barbara Richwine and many much loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Pryor and Daughter Sheryl.
