Richard "Dick " Schultz, 80, of Burrel, passed away on May 16th, 2023 peacefully in the comfort of his home.

Dick was born on February 22, 1943 to Armand (Bill) and Simone Schultz in Oakland, California then moved to Burrel when he was 8 months old.

He went to school at Riverdale High School, graduating in 1960. He met the love of his life while they both attended Fresno City College. He married Bonnie on June 1st, 1963.

Dick spent his summers after high school working for the Forest Service in Shaver Lake. After marrying Bonnie, they spent their honeymoon in Shaver for 3 months as he continued to work for the Forest Service. After the 3 months, they moved back down to Burrel where he spent the next 60 years.

Schultz Ranch Inc. was his passion. He kept the legacy of his paternal Great-Grandmother, Mary, going as he achieved his goal of expanding the acreage of the ranch to help support his growing family. The ranch was started in 1886. The land has gone through many transformations, as it started off being bought from the railroad to produce row crops to currently producing permanent crops.

Dick was involved in Calcot, Riverdale Rodeo Association, RCO Ag Credit, KRWA, Raisin City Co-op Gin, Burrel Elementary School Board, Riverdale Veterans Memorial Hall, Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove Cemetery Veterans Memorial Committee and Shaver Lake Trophy Trout.

Dick not only had a passion for farming, he loved recreational activities. Dick and Bonnie rarely missed a Fresno State Football game being season ticket holders. He spent many hours at Millerton Lake water skiing and many hours fishing at Shaver Lake and a few in the deep sea. Dick played recreational softball which were some of the best years of his life. He enjoyed pizza every Friday night through his children's time in school. As his family grew, the free time he had was spent watching his children, grandchildren and great-children thrive in their passions of sports, racing, fairs and dance recitals.

Dick is preceded in death by parents, Armand and Simone Schultz, and Son in Law, Chris Roush.

Dick is survived by his wife Bonnie Schultz. His children Richard Schultz Jr. (Annie), Steven Schultz (Michelle) and Lorna Roush. His grandchildren, Diane Power (Devin), Keith Roush (Kaylee), David Schultz (Samantha), Micaleah Woodcock (John), Samantha Roush, Lexie Schultz, and Marissa Schultz. His great-grandchildren Brycen Roush, Mackcen Roush, Danielle Power, Huxcen Roush, Douglas Power, Elizabeth Woodcock, and Kaylin Schultz. His siblings Bill Schultz, Kathy Kuahiwinui, and Jim Schultz. His everfaithful companion, Pistol.

Funeral arrangements will be on June 5, 2023. Viewing will be at 9:00 am at St. Ann's Church, located at 3047 W Mt Whitney Ave, in Riverdale. Rosary will follow at 9:30 am at St. Ann's Church. Mass services will be at 10:00 am at St. Ann's Church. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, 19811 Cedar St, Laton, CA. Please join us after for a Luncheon at Riverdale Memorial Hall, 3085 W Mt Whitney Ave.
