Lou Ella Doscher Begley Hunt, 93, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 2:18 PM, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at her home in Hannibal, MO.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hannibal, MO. Pastor Eric Carlson will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, MO.

Friends and Family are invited to Lou Ella's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

Lou Ella was born March 30, 1932, in Ewing, MO to Frank Doscher and Emma Schade Doscher.

On January 26, 1952, Lou Ella married Maurice Edwin Begley. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1964. She later married Walter G. Hunt on October 10, 1970, in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2023.

Survivors include her four children, Steve Begley (Karen) of Palmyra, MO, Karen Burditt (Jeff) of New London, MO, Simon Begley (Janet) of Overland Park, KS, and Nancy Lovercheck (Jason) of Hannibal, MO; two stepchildren, Deborah Perry of Palmyra, MO and Don Hunt (Kim) of Hannibal, MO; daughter-in-law, Sandy Begley; 12 grandchildren, Justin Begley (Tracy), Michelle Munoz, Megan Gottman (Jamie), Dulcie Stewart (Jared), Tory Smith (Drew), Jason Long (Katelyn), Jesse Long, Leslie Ohse (Kurtis), Emma Trenhaile (Paul), Erica Henningsen (Eric), Aaron Begley (Amanda), Rebekah Lovercheck; six step grandchildren, John Perry (Tori), William Perry (Tamra), Elizabeth Perry (Amanda), Matthew Perry (Beth), Joshua Hunt (Casey), and Lyndsey Shinn (Rick); 40 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lou Ella was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edwin "Butch" Begley; son-in-law, Carl Perry; and two sisters, Eileen Redford (Fred), and Wilma Crow (Paul).

Lou Ella was a homemaker. She was an accomplished seamstress, Lou Ella's creations included more than garments. She also took pride in quilting and cross stitch. Lou Ella enjoyed tending to her flowers and garden. Another hobby she took pride in was collecting and refurbishing antiques to bring them back to life. Born with a spirit as free as the horses she adored, Lou Ella spent her younger years riding across the very grounds that would become the iconic stadiums of the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. This experience instilled in her a love for horses that would last a lifetime. Most of all, family was the heart of Lou Ella's world. Her love for her children and grandchildren was unmatched. Lou Ella will be missed by all who knew her.

Lou Ella was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hannibal, MO. She was active in the St. John's Ladies Aide there for many years.

Pallbearers will be Justin Begley, Jackson Stewart, Jason Long, Jesse Long, Aaron Begley, and Rebekah Lovercheck.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Hannibal, MO or Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra, MO.
