Phyllis Bowen Obituary

Phyllis S. Bowen, 86, of Mexico, passed away Monday evening, September 29, 2025, in Mexico.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Susan Presley officiating.

The family will gather with friends following the service in the Fellowship hall of the church.

Phyllis was born on November 27, 1938 in Boonville, the daughter of Charles "Jack" and Myrtle (Scharmhorst) Stock. On September 27, 1958 in Hannibal, she married Richard "Dick" Bowen Jr. who survives.

Phyllis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico for over 60 years.

In addition to her husband, survivors include, one son, Richard Bowen (Dixie Delbridge) of Portland, Oregon; one daughter Anne Grenko (William F.) of St. Louis; five grandchildren, Kelsey Grenko of St. Louis, Kortney Grenko of St. Louis, Kaitlin Grenko-Pedersen (Zakk) of St. Louis, Charlie Delbridge (Amber) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Tim Delbridge (Annie) of Corvallis, Oregon; and three great grandchildren, Louis and Alan Delbridge and Henry Pedersen.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Audrain Humane Society. Memorials may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
