Ray Clark

HOLMES MILL — Ray Clark, 90, of Holmes Mill, KY, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 14, 1924 in Harlan County, he had lived here all of his life. Ray was a retired coal miner and logger, and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He believed in the Baptist faith.

Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Faye Clark; parents, Anthony Clark and Cora Bush Clark; two brothers, Willie and Dillard Clark; five sisters, Dovie Rice, Geneva Bush, Helen Faye Jordan, Gracie Bush and Rosie Logan.

Survivors include five children, Ricky Clark and wife, Norma, Jonesville, VA; Patsy Cornett and husband, Mark, Holmes Mill; Ira Lee Clark and wife, Donna, Closplint; Donnie Clark and wife, Margey, Holmes Mill, and Bekki Eldridge and husband, David, Closplint; one brother, Ralph Clark, Indiana; and one sister, Pauline Baldwin, Cumberland.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday after 2:00 P.M. at the Closplint Missionary Baptist Church and from 12 Noon until 9:00 P.M. Monday at the Victory Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 2 P.M. at the Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Freemen and Reverend Ira Lee Clark officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Ray's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
